My name is Ed and I'm an independent celebrant specialising in funeral and memorial services. I am based in South East London and though I serve the capital I am often available to deliver services further afield.
You may be thinking about reaching out to me during a very difficult time. Perhaps you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed about the task of arranging a funeral service that feels right for the person you have recently lost. Rest assured I'm here to help. To listen, and where necessary to guide. Together we'll make a fitting and meaningful ceremony for your loved one.

My services are tailored entirely to your needs and wishes. Some clients have already decided what they'd like included in the service (poems, songs, personal tributes) while others prefer me to provide suggestions. Some have family and friends who wish to give readings, while others want me to deliver the majority of the service myself. There's no "right" way to do a funeral. It's all about what you're comfortable with and what you feel would best honour your loved one. This is what we'll discuss when we meet.

Initially, I will come to you either at your home or a public space to discuss your wishes and needs for the service. Sometimes it's not possible to meet in person but a phone call or zoom can work just as well. During our time together we'll have a chat about your loved one, about their life and what made them special, and how you'd like the service to run. From here I will write an entirely bespoke service, from start to finish, based on our discussion. I'll be sure to supply you with drafts of what I've written so you can make tweaks and amendments. Nothing will make it into the final service without your permission. Although I didn't know your loved one it's my job to get a feel for the person, highlight the things that made them unique and lovable and to take on board how you would best like them to be remembered.

Why choose me?
My celebrant journey began when I was asked to help arrange the funeral for a close friend. Although I had no experience at the time, the process of writing and delivering the eulogy, as well as curating the rest of service, was a powerful experience that gave me immense healing during a turbulent time. From here I trained with The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants, the UK's largest organisation of professional celebrants, and ever since it has been an honour and a privilege to deliver personalised funerals full of meaning and heart.
